Sarah completed a Masters degree in Urban Design in 2010 from Oxford Brookes University and previously studied Town & Country Planning at South Bank University, achieving a Bachelor's degree in Town Planning in 1990 followed by diploma in Town Planning in 1991. Sarah became a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute in 2005.
Sarah worked at Waverley Borough Council from 2003 to 2008, rising from Planning Officer to Principal Planner during her time with the Authority.
Experience while at Waverley was varied and included major development, householder applications, appeals, Certificates of Lawful Use (both existing and proposed), enforcement work and presentation of cases at Planning Committee. Sarah joined D&M Planning in 2008, studying part-time for her MA in Urban Design. Sarah became a Director in 2011.
Sarah's client base consists of residential developers, private and public schools, private individuals and private investors. Examples include residential redevelopment, hospital redevelopment, LDF and Local Plan site promotion/representation at examination, mixed use schemes, equestrian/rural enterprises, replacement dwellings, exception housing developments, extensions to dwellings, Certificate of Lawful Use applications (both existing and proposed), and change of use of buildings. She is currently studying part time for an MA in Urban Design at Oxford Brookes University with the full support of the Partnership.
