Guildford Borough Council have granted permission for the change of use of a former funeral directors to a sui generis laundrette. This is despite a similar scheme being refused on the adjoining property.

Matt was able to demonstrate that the proposed use would be complimentary to the amenity of the area improving the wider sustainability and that the loss of the Class E unit would not be detrimental to such either. Working closley with the applicant, Matt was able to demonstrate that there would be no harm by way of noise, highways or parking as part of the change of use. The grant of permission will allow the applicant to open their first business bringing positive economic growth to the area.
